Crown of Midnight
by Sarah J. Maas
maybe more of a 3.5 stars this time around?
i always enjoy maas’ writing because is so easy to read. i guess her book to me in a sense are what people mean when they talk about their “guilty pleasure” kind of books.
because let’s be honest here this series? not that great in either plot, character development or even how the books are done overall. there are beginnings of great plot twist ideas and action and adventure moments but most of them get a bit shortened in my opinion to a rushed or dragged out writing style.
but i don’t care at all with this series because i just enjoy it reading it when i want something i don’t have to think about!
i just want to read and forget the time and be entertained without anything else.
reality tv but in reading format i guess!
so would i recommend this book and this series to anyone else?
sure give it a try!
but if you are an fantasy lover this series will drive you nuts!
and if want to give fantasy a try? not sure if this is where i would recommend starting.
if you want something by fun and stupid but entertaining?
then yes! go for it!!
this want anything helpful at all about the actual book -again maybe the next reread i will actually manage to write a real review? (hear that? that’s everyone laughing loudly!).
but alright let’s try!
i think this book could have been either shorter or longer but then combined with book three because whole things happen nothing really does. there is a lot of trying to figure out things and drama with and around relationship if any kind and some murder and fighting. but overall? all that could have been told and done in 150-200 pages without really losing much if any of the actual plot that this book includes.
so for me this is the typical second book in the way that it drags a bit, it’s not the best one and it is the bridge between the introduction and when everything actually finally gets started.
so it’s important but like most important things not necessary the most fun to work through!
was that a review? probably not!
who cares!
