My mistake in trying to read fantasy romance -- it's simply not to my taste. I was excited by the Greek Mythology tie-in but new Gods and powers kept showing up to save the day every 5 minutes. I guess Deus Ex Machina is an ancient greek concept so maybe that's fitting.
