The Philosopher's Flight
by Tom Miller
I'm almost a little annoyed with how much I liked this book. I love the idea of a sect of magic that's powerful and that women are best suited to, so a man is an anomaly in it. I love historical retellings that include one thing that's very different. I don't like books about men moving in on women's space. That's really what this book is: a man invading a woman-dominated career path, in a world where women are still the lesser sex. Still, though, it was a compelling storyline, and I love the world that Miller created.
