In 2013 I used the novel writing kit during the NaNoWriMo and that worked better for me than this book. The "Tips from the Trenches" bits are a bit annoying and I didn't find them helpful at all. The decrease in size of the letters coupled with the darker background made me less interested in reading them. The book itself is useful and funny (and a good distraction in November), but it didn't have a lot of new information in it if you've already read everything in the No Plot? No Problem! novel writing kit.
