It was so refreshing stepping into the world within this novel. The world-building was fantastic. I loved all the characters (although Nightblood was my favorite character even though he is a sword). I really enjoyed the magic system, it was excellent!

I liked Siri at the beginning of the book, she and her sister Vivenna almost switched personalities throughout the book. I just wanted to give Suseborn a hug during the whole book. I just really felt for him and thought he deserved way better than how he was treated. He was just such a pure soul. He was just so innocent, which was a vast contrast to the scary persona that everyone gave him.

I really enjoyed the politics in this book. It was fascinating to learn the world's politics and understand how the different societies and levels of society worked. Now I just want to read more Brandon Sanderson books!
