I'll Carry You by Annabelle McCormack
4.5
challenging mysterious medium-paced

I fell in like with Jen's character in book 1 even though she wasn't the main focus so I'm so glad that book 2 was her story!

Being a single mother is hard but Jen does such a great job. She falls hard for Jason, a mysterious stranger that comes to Brandywood on a mission. He wants to prevent the private investigator hired by his late grandfather's company finding the nephew Jason knew nothing about. An inheritance is on the line....

I didn't think that Jason always had the best intentions, though he swore what he was doing was for the people that could potentially lose jobs. He wasn't trustworthy and very untruthful but when he falls fast for Jen, I could easily see his struggle with his original plans. I appreciated the fact that he was able to change by the end of the book. It was a struggle for him after being told so long that he wasn't worth anything by his grandfather. This town everyone warmed up to him and helped him to see that he was worth it.

I totally love the direction that Jen's dreams and dedication took her to and she deserves so much everything she got in the end!
