Tokyo Revengers, Vol. 3
by Ken Wakui
Okay now we're talking.
Takemichi is trying to save everyone. This is his goal from the very start. And we explode into a violent fight between two gangs right off the bat here. Manjiro wasn't a character I fully believed could back up his bold claims of being a badass but he proves it here. But when everything goes wrong thanks to the actions of one guy, everything begins to break apart as the friction between two friends can break a family.
This was a lot better paced and more interesting volume than the previous two. While it got better last volume, this one was fantastic. I feel for Michi and his need to save people after feeling like a failure his whole life. Him pushing forward to stop two brothers from killing each other is noble. It's the brutal fights and sudden bloody moments that give this series a spark that makes me second guess everything.
Can you really save the future?
A 4.5 out of 5.
