To start off positively, I think it's great that there are more books for YA that discuss the topic of grief and this is absolutely a beautiful and heartbreaking addition to the sad teen book extended universe. That being said, this was also the first time I felt like I was 'too old' for YA books (I'm currently in my early 30s) because the cattiness that was thrown about the scenes that took place with the students was just a bit too prominent given the thematic nature of the book. Like, I expected to be bawling my eyes out throughout reading this but barely teared up.
