I’m pretty sure by now everyone and their mum has heard of this series. My original intention was to stay clear of the book but after countless Tik Tok posts and the book being adapted into a Netflix series I though I’d give the book a shot, and omg was I not let down.

Shadow and Bone follows are main protagonist Alina Starkov, who to most people is your plain ol cartographer, but there’s more to her than meets the eye.Alina has a power, who she herself has not realised yet. We very quickly begin to realise that there is more to Alina, than just a plain, orphan girl. But that the fate of a whole country rests on her shoulders. I don’t want to be one of those people who spoils the plot of the book, so if you want to find out more... well you are going to have to read the book
