📖 This was my first Erin Hawkins read and it was pretty dang cute with some awesome tropes! There’s something about a grumpy, workaholic billionaire that just hits right — especially when a sassy woman gets under his skin and he thinks he can’t stand her but really he just wants her 👀 and that my friends is Barrett and Chloe. Chloe got herself into some trouble and Barrett was kind of an ass and backed her into a corner for his own benefit, but was always doing some secret cute shit behind the scenes. Watching him let down his guard and start to live and enjoy his life instead of only working was so cute, especially because he ended up being such a softy for Chloe AND their cute little foster dog. Guess who was adamant that they hated dogs? 😂 It has its classic rom com elements but also some really nice spice! Chloe and Barrett had great banter and the drama was just right in my opinion. This was a fun one if you are in the mood for something light and cute!
🎧 I listened to this on audio and it was dual narration with Joe Arden and Amanda Stribling. I’ve listened to Joe many many times, and he crushed it as always, bringing Barrett to life in my mind! This was the first time I can remember hearing Amanda’s voice, she definitely fit a romcom vibe with a bubbly up beat sound. She almost reminded me a little bit of Reese Witherspoon from Legally Blonde. She did a nice job with the male voice in her POV too.
