The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires
by Grady Hendrix
I don't think a book has made me this angry since the Red Wedding in A Song of Ice and Fire. This male author writes some of the dumbest, most irritating female characters who don't act like women. They act like men think women act.
While this takes place in the 1990s in the South, you'd think we were back in the 1950s, or Victorian times the way the women are ignored, belittled, and gaslighted. Even the women gaslight each other. The title makes you think it's going to be a lighthearted vampire romcom. This is a dark, awful, vicious and disgusting book.
