I had 0 clue what I was getting myself into when I bought a copy of this book. All I needed to hear was "Hunger Games prequel". For the most part, this delivered. I hated who I expected to hate, which was reassuring, and I really appreciated the backstory it gave to the Games and the Gamemakers. I spent most of the book adding 64 to 18 and realizing this man is much, MUCH older than I anticipated. Hm. Anyways, I'm glad I read it and I'm glad it exists, and honestly I'd love to see at least some short stories from the time spanning games 11 through 73.
