Genre: Small Town Mystery 

A woman estranged from her family returns to her small town to help search for her missing mother. 

Really good debut! It’s filled with family trauma, parental abuse, alcoholism, and dysfunction all mixed together into a mystery. The whole story is based off of the main character accidentally backing up a car into her mother (who survives) and she ends up for going to prison for that. It didn’t seem believable for her to serve that much jail time and it bothered me the whole book.  
      But other than that… solid dysfunctional small town mystery.
