I read this book due to my daughter's desire to see the musical if it ever comes here. I wanted to know the story, as she and I usually go to musicals together. I was a little surprised at the storyline. I didn't realize it would be about technology at all.

I like that the book really teaches teens that being themselves is always preferable to changing yourself in order to get people to like you. The right people will like you already if you just stay true to who you are.

The afterward really hit me though, I didn't realize until reading it that the author has passed on, and in such a tragic way. After reading the afterward, I have decided to read It's Kind of a Funny Story next.
