Us Dark Few by Alexis Patton
4.0

I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this one, I first saved when I saw it compared to Fallout (hence the nuclear destruction and living off the surface of earth) storyline!

Honestly I completely ate this up. It had fast pacing with some great character development thrown in, the book starts at the plot so you really are just tossed right in. I loved the descriptions of the underground prison and “city” compared to the wealthy luxurious top class in Genesis who didn’t reside under. Khalani pretty much thought everything I thought so it was a fun time reading from her perspective and how she interpreted the world. And I mean Takeshi was such a broody, neurotic, grump but in the BEST way. Plus there are some MAJOR twists and dives throughout this book but especially right at the very end. If you’re hankering for the classic dystopian YA novels or anything in that general vibe, you will LOVE this. I think that’s why the nostalgia had me devour it.

Look out soon for the 2nd book!
