Simply put, if you held in your hands the answer when you were going to die would you want to know exactly when it was so you could act on it, or ignore the information that’s been handed to you?

The characters in this book are confronted with that very dilemma. Woven tightly and focusing on 8 main characters, this debut novel is tight with the expectation of what each of the 8’s plan will be and if it will be influenced by their fate.

One day in March every person in the world, aged 22 or older, receives and indestructible box which inside holds a string, the length of which corresponds directly to the length of their life. Governments around the globe make swift declarations demanding answers to what the boxes contain and scientists work tirelessly to try to prove if the strings portend the truth.

The main cast intertwine with each other in such a way that the story within these pages becomes one that is equally balanced with love and heartbreak and, especially, in the face of inevitable prejudice that is an easy parallel to the real world, hope.
