My FIRST Karin Slaughter novel and she did not disappoint! False Witness was captivating, depressing, surprising, and SO MUCH MORE. Leigh and Callie are sisters with completely different personalities and an unbreakable bond. Leigh is a successful defense attorney and Callie is a tough drug addict. In their youth, they both experienced serious abuse that resulted in a deadly altercation. Now their past has come to haunt them and now they must come together to protect themselves and the ones they love. This book is dark and twisty and not for the faint of heart. The ending was perfectly executed, the characters were real and scary, and I loved the roller coaster style writing. I can't wait to read Slaughter's other books.
