Harken is the first book in a trilogy by Kaleb Nation, it is a sci-fi conspiracy novel that takes place in LA. The novel focuses mainly on one character, Micheal Asher, and shows how he comes to the realization that the world is not how he has always believed it is, that everything is not as it seems. Kaleb does an amazing job showing the mental development of Micheal as he goes through this transformation.The writing style in which Kaleb uses is engrossing, his novel pulls you in and makes you forget about everything happening around you (warning if you are reading while waiting for a meeting you will jump when the other person appears).

There are so many ups and downs throughout this novel that it continuously left me trying to guess what would happen next, every twist and turn within the novel was positioned in the absolute best way possible, nothing was out of place or even remotely iffy. To top it off, Kaleb has so many witty one liners throughout the book that would just put a smile across my face. I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars, it is definetly worth your read!
