I get the idea Rooney was trying to make. Sometimes I found myself enjoying the plot, but the writing style killed me. Blocks of text that go on for pages really kills the drive to read, and the understanding of the piece. I am not fully ready to give up on Rooney, but this book was definitely not where a first time reader would start. It left me really confused.
