Girls Can Kiss Now: Essays by Jill Gutowitz
4.5

As a pop culture obsessed millennial lesbian this book was written just for me. I’ve followed Jill’s work/tweets for years and her humor is great in this book. There are parts of this book that go a little bit off the rails and I know they wouldn’t be nearly as relatable/able to be understood in the way she meant them without our similar backgrounds which is a the majority of the reason it’s not a 5 star from me. I listened to the audiobook (read by the author) and I can’t recommend that method enough. Some of the other issues people had (millennial internet jargon usage like way too many exclamation points and the listicles etc) are not as much of a problem in the audiobook. I will definitely be reading future work from Jill and really enjoyed this book.
