I started reading this book with so much expectation. I like retellings but this one was not for me.
Overall it had an interesting storyline base but the rest of it was a bit ... boring. Retelling is best as inspiration where you get a story that has its own imprint, this one felt as if it was following the retelling of the original by the chapter...with a spice.
The spice parts of the story felt out of place and not in a good way. There was no build-up to that part, just...do it.
