Lev
by Belle Aurora
Copy received from author for an honest review
A new series from Belle Aurora - woohoo!
I have loved the Leokov guys from the Friend-Zones series, so to get more of them - their cousins - is just an added bonus!
Lev Leokov is smart, sexy, successful - and although not broken, a little bent. He is a bit of an enigma, not just to the reader but to those around him.
Mina Harris is at wits end - homeless, penniless, starving. She is a tiny mouse of a woman.
Desperate times mean desperate measures, and those desperate measure bring Lev and Mina together.
I adored the protective side coming out in Lev. So not how you are expecting him to be. I was expecting a gruff, harsh kind of guy, but right from the start there was none of that to be seen. Yeah, he broods, but that is kind of sexy.
In fact, he is kind of swoonworthy.
Mina blossoms under Lev's protection. Her wit and sassiness come to the fore more and more - and LOVE that she doesn't take any crap from anyone - especially Lev's brother Sasha.
But Lev grows too. We see him come out of his self imposed bubble that even his family has not been able to get him out of. He says he can't love, but his actions tell so much more than his words ever could.
There is some underworld action in Lev too, some mystery and intrigue that kept me wondering what would be revealed next.
There are some fantastic secondary characters - Lev's brother and sister Sasha (who has his moments when I wanted to throat punch him) and his sister Nas. Through it all, family is family, and family comes first.
Lev is a wonderful, face paced read that I did not want to put down once I started.
Ms Aurora has never disappointed me yet.
Now, hopefully we will get more soon, as there were some things setting up in this book that are hopefully leading into more.
Please tell us there is more Ms Aurora
