I read this as a challenge to myself to get out of my comfort zone. While I liked it overall the first half infuriated me, the world building was so atrocious that I had a very hard time getting immersed at all. The only thing that really saved it that I felt the characters were very strong. I do like an enemies to lovers trope when I read anything involving romance and I thought this was done pretty well. I also think this book could have benefit from heavier editing. There was too much repeating of information and some parts that were just flat out not needed at all. Once I hit about 70% into the book it finally started getting good enough that I could get lost in it and ended up staying up way too late to finish.
I will most likely read the second book
