Whelp...that does it. Emily Henry is now an automatic read for me from here on out. I will be picking up all of her backlist.
I am not typically a romance reader (though I still think there should be a category for those books that land somewhere between a contemporary and a typical "bodice ripper" romance), but I have now read two of her novels and given them both 5 stars. I love her characters and I adore her writing. Alex was just the perfect male character in this book and totally made me swoony. Poppy was quirky and fun, but still believable. I loved the banter and the wit.
I listened to the audiobook for this one, and let me tell you...Julia Whelan is just a freaking star. I love everything she narrates. She has such a great knack for putting just the right emotion into her voice and I could listen to her read just about anything. Add that to the great writing of this book and I just wanted to snuggle right up with it.
Have I convinced you to read it yet? Because you should. It's great and light and the absolutely perfect beach read. Love.
