I really liked this contemporary! I can say for sure now that I like this genre better than chicklit. It feels more fluffy and cute and most of the time less predictable.

Back to this book. It is a really nice concept with the letters, and the vicarious shame I felt during reading certain parts of this book is really good! I will definitely read the sequel as well this month, I want to know what follows! I really feel for all the Dutch reading who will have to wait.. This book and its sequel are book of the month at my goodreads bookclub Books Ever After btw.

But somehow, I don't lovelovelove this book, and I think it is because of the characters. I don't know if I really like Lara Jean, I don;t really have the feeling I know her. This is because Josh is saying she is different and I don't see that. or is he just saying that because things are weird between them? I'm a bit guessing here and I don't like to guess.

I do like the thing with Peter in the book, once you get to know him a bit you see that there is more to him than what just meets the eye. I just love him with Kitty. And this is the case with every person, everybody has other sides, personal sides, everybody is acting a bit different in public etc. Once you really get to know someone, that is when a good friendship or a love blossoms. This is how me and my boyfriend got toghether, because we got to knew each other better and better and started to fall in love :) when we look back, we can't pinpoint at which point we fell in love, and that is how it should be.

Because this book shows you the different side of Peter, it lets you see this process. Because I like Peter a lot, and I have no clue when that happened.
