I’d still give it roughly the same rating at this point, maybe even keep it at 4 stars and not round up. I read this much quicker than I did the first time but found it slowed down at times where I kept losing focus.
All in all it was a good step into the world of dark academia/mystery/adult fantasy for Leigh Bardugo and I’m really excited to dive into Hell Bent next!

I really think I would have enjoyed this completely had I not had a huge personal thing come up in the middle of reading it. It made it hard to get through the end of the book and I really think it was a good book.
It wasn’t what I was expecting from Bardugo and I think she did a really fantastic job moving away from her grisha-verse and moving into this new world she created. I thought a few things were a tad unnecessary but overall I thought it was a very solid book.
I’m looking forward to the next book when it comes out.
