FR : 4.5/5 - Le résumé de l'histoire me semblant tellement parfait, je l'attendais avec impatience !
Je ne sais pas exactement à quoi je m'attendais, mais The Rest Of Us Just Live Here n'était certainement pas ça. La première partie m'a donc un peu déçue. Il ne se passait pas grand chose et j'attendais à tout prix un événement. Mais pourquoi ? Le but du livre est justement qu'on ne suit pas les personnages à qui tout arrive ! En comprenant ça je me suis un peu décontractée et j'ai réussi à plus apprécier l'histoire et les personnages auquel on s'attache vraiment au fil du livre.

Et puis j'en suis arrivée au bout où Michael parle à sa psychiatre et qu'elle lui sort un magnifique paragraphe sur l'anxiété et notre responsabilité envers l'anxiété, et j'ai fondu en larmes. Ça m'a énormément touché et à partir de là il m'a semblé que le livre était superbe !
J'ai aussi adoré et détesté (oui, les deux à la fois) la fin, qui m'a aussi fait énormément pleurer.
C'est beau, c'est poétique, ce ne sont pas les 'Chosen One', mais c'est ceux que j'ai suivi au long du livre et qui m'ont touché le cœur.

I don't know exactly what I was expecting but I didn't get that so I was a little disappointed at first. Nothing much was going on and I was waiting for somthing to happen. But why ? This book is NOT about those to whom everything happens ! When I finally understood that, I relaxed and started to enjoy the story et the characters much more.

Then I got to the part where Michael is talking gto his psychiatrist about anxiety, and our responsability towards anxiety, and I cried. I was incredibly moved, and from then the book seemed splendid !
I hated but also loved (yes, BOTH) the ending. I cried so much. Again.
It's beautiful, poetic, we didn't follow the 'Chosen Ones', but the ones we followed touched my heart.
