Okay so if you are craving some extra twilight content this is definitely worth the read LOL. The story was literally the same but it was funny to try to imagine a boy human and a girl vampire - I don't know why it made the whole plot line feel so much more forced? I wonder what that says about my internalized misogyny. I found Edyth to be way less creepy and intense than Edward which is definitely an Edward thing. I think I like Bella more than I like Beau? Bella seemed to have more of a personality than Beau but maybe I just assume women are more interesting. Still not sure how I feel about the changed ending where Beau becomes a vampire instead of him being saved and having the venom sucked out? It seemed like more of a tool for Meyer to not have to come up with a reason for not writing the rest of the books with the character genders swapped. The funeral scene made me upset and it just seemed weird how easily Beau gave up on trying to see his family. Overall this was a fun read, obviously not high brow literature, but I'm glad I gave it a read. May the twilight renaissance continue!
