Black Widow Vol. 2: Tightly Tangled Web
by Nathan Edmondson
I definitely liked this volume better than volume 1, but I still felt pretty ehh about this story overall. I honestly couldn’t tell you where this story is going at all. It doesn’t really have a clear plot, or story in mind. I genuinely couldn’t tell you what this story is about. Natasha is playing a mind game with a twisted web of secrets for the entirety of this volume, but towards what? What’s the end game, what’s the goal? The way I’m describing it seems like a mystery, but in reality, none of it makes much sense. I think my favorite part of the volume was the appearance of Laura Kinney (X-23) who is one of my favorite characters ever. Her and Nat’s dynamic and team up was highly interesting, and I really hope she appears more in the next volume.
As for everything else though, I didn’t really love much of this. The most redeeming factor about this story so far is the art. Besides that, nothing else made me fully want to continue this story. There’s even an issue of the Punisher in here where Nat appears for maybe 10 panels. So why was it in here? I really couldn’t tell you. So yeah, I just feel pretty ehh about this story so far. This is definitely going to be on my least recommended Black Widow arcs
