Mr. Fixer Upper by Lucy Score
4.0

I actually read this book AFTER reading The Christmas Fix, when I should have read it in reverse order. That being said, I was still able to enjoy this one and of course, Lucy Score scores again. This was a fun read, with some spice and a good plot. I really enjoyed the plot point of Paige making a documentary that exposes the discrepancies in the television industry, particularly when it comes to women and stereotyping, gender pay gap and sexual harassment. This was really great, and in the post #metoo era, absolutely necessary. I didn't view it as a bad thing that the author included it as part of the plot, although I see where others might be bothered by it - but I'd challenge you to ask yourself why that is if you are...

Gannon and Paige had such great chemistry and I was waiting with bated breath for them to finally get together. It was worth the build up and the wait! This is sort of an HGTV home improvement style show that Paige and Gannon both work for and on, and I enjoyed that aspect. A man with a toolbelt and muscles and slightly egotistical but falls for the girl? Yes, please. Paige was a great heroine, a determined fighter who just wanted her equal share. The drama was a bit much at times (the whole Gannon's past relationship thing) but overall, this was such a cute and fun read and just what I needed.

Just make sure to read this one before reading The Christmas Fix because Gannon's sister, Cat, is the main heroine in that one!
