Do Not Disturb by Freida McFadden
2.5

This is my first Freida McFadden novel and I hope the rest aren't like this one. I'm not a fan of telling a story one way and then having a big twist to make it a completely different story just for the shock value.
When Claudia is introduced, she is worried about her sister and if she is in danger. She says how she took care of her and has to find her. Then we find out she is having an affair with Quinn's husband and wants revenge for this death. Example: There is one point when Claudia questions another woman (no one is around to overhear) if she is the one Derek was meeting that night. What would have been the point of that if she had known it was her?
Or initially tell the story one way, leaving out important parts to reveal a big twist later.
From Quinn's POV, when she is stabbed, she doesn't really see the woman, and all she hears is something like "What did you do?" and then she is stabbed in the abdomen. But from Claudia's POV, she has a short conversation with her before she gets stabbed.
I love a good plot twist when it's done properly and not like a cheap trick.
