The Truth
by Terry Pratchett
“I mean, everyone says that sort of thing, don’t they? ‘I did it for the best,’ ‘the end justifies the means’ . . . the same words, every time.”
“Don’t you agree, then, that it’s time for a ruler who listens to the people?”
“Maybe. Which people did you have in mind?”
I can never hope to truly capture the essence of a Terry Pratchett book.
But if you want something that explores:
● the power of words
● journalistic integrity + accountability
● what people in office owe citizens
— all in a way that fuels your anger over injustice but also soothes a little part of your soul?
I highly, highly recommend reading this book.
