ausfangirlreads 's review for:
The Odd 1s Out: The First Sequel
by James Rallison
I was sent a copy of this book from Scholastic Australia in exchange for an honest review.
From stories on Dog Training, to Why the Robot Uprising Wouldn’t be That Bad, James Rallison’s second book, The Odd 1s Out: The Frist Sequel has everything you want in a comedy book.
As always, his illustrations are amazing, colourful, and quirky in the best ways, to me there is nothing better than reading a book and turning the page to see a little illustration, it almost makes you read faster, just to get to the section where the illustration is referenced.
I loved James’ story telling and writing style, it almost felt like having a friend recount a story to you while having a coffee together. I suppose all those years scripting YouTube videos would have helped with storytelling and the best way to get information across, either way I loved it.
I would also like to thank James for impowering the use of Comic Sans in all forms of media and providing me with a flow chart to make sure I always end up using Comic Sans in my day-to-day life. Thank you kind sir! Everyone in my life will hate me, but you know what, I’ll love it!
Again, a huge thank you to the team at Scholastic Australia for sending me copy of this book, I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to any releases from James Rallison in the future!
