The Sorcerer of the Wildeeps
by Kai Ashante Wilson
My heaaaart. This novella took me a while to get into, I found the sentences confusing and didn't grasp the way the world worked at all. Eventually though I fell into the swing of reading it, and enough of the world was explained that I felt comfortable and became invested in the story. (At that point I reread the first couple chapters and found them much easier to understand. It's quite possible my earlier struggle is largely owing to starting the reading of it in a distracting environment.) I loved the protagonist of this story, and his journey left me pretty emotionally devastated. I look forward to reading further work Wilson has done in this setting, but what I really want is more Demane.
