Emmy and Owen *sigh and swoon"
I loved that Owen (a firefighter 🔥) was a hero in love but doesn't realize that he was in love. He thought that romance had to be all about grand gestures and after being jilted, he didn't want any part of that. But the way he is with Emmy and how he treats her and helps her and looks out for her- all these seemingly little, insignificant things ARE romantic!
Emmy (a bookshop owner) is just my type of "weird". I get the longing in pining for someone that only sees you as a friend and nothing more. I love that she's patient with Owen.
The anticipation you feel while waiting for these two to "get it together!" is tantalizing and sweet and well worth the payoff!
