this book was super cis and hetero which was definitely a turn off for me. asking readers to deconstruct a decent amount of what i have already deconstructed BUT i actually learned a ton!! emily has a LOT to say but she very much asks you to take what you want and need and throw away what is not applicable. super helpful in recognizing my own bias, breaking down patriarchal thought, and throwing away misinformation. im glad to have more tools in my to belt and language to articulate some of my experiences and feelings. tw trans/homophobia (only because i was a bit uncomfy w just how straight the book was) and big tw on sexual assault and rape.
