My Life with the Walter Boys
by Ali Novak
4.5/5 stars
I first read this book back in 2019. It was a 5-star read for me then, but I am rating my books a little more critically now (that is why my rating has dropped half a star).
The premise of this book is funny and pretty unique. I've only read one other book with a similar premise, but it wasn't as good.
Watching Jackie go live with a bunch of boys was quite entertaining. It reminded me a lot of when I used to babysit in high school.
I enjoyed reading about how Jackie bonded with each one of the Walter kids.
I'm not a big fan of love triangles, so that aspect of the story wasn't quite as good to me.
My opinions of the boys changed over the story. I didn't like Cole much at the beginning and had a hard time understanding why Jackie did. He did grow on me though as the story progressed.
The opposite was true of Alex. At the beginning of the book, I thought he was super sweet and likable. By the end though he just seemed like a guy who just wanted a girlfriend, but not Jackie in particular.
I really would love for Ali Novak to publish a sequel because I would enjoy reading it. There is so much more that could happen with these characters.
