This was so interesting for so many reasons - this taught me so much about Russian prison processes and international trade processes. As someone involved in LGBTQ+ activism I was vaguely aware of her situation while it was happening and signed a couple petitions, and I was happy to see her free even though I don't follow WNBA. It must have been horrifying making a mistake like this, and even worse ending up as a political pawn. Very thankful to Griner for sharing her story!
