The Silent Patient
by Alex Michaelides
The Silent Patient tells the story of Theo, a psychotherapist, who transfers to a new facility because of one particular patient. Alicia is a famous artist who goes completely silent after murdering her husband. Theo tells the story of how he tries to get Alicia to speak again while we hear her story through her journal entries.
This book was well written and fast paced for the most part. As the author was building up to the big twist I started to piece it together, but I didn’t see it coming until then. I felt there were some parts that were a little drawn out, and I just didn’t believe there was enough time for the last journal entry (no spoilers!) which is why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.
