What I enjoyed most about this book was that we're able to see what happens after a revolution overthrows a government. There aren't always structures in place that will ensure that the government doesn't repeat previous mistakes, and Munda does a great job exploring this idea. Plus, dragons! Who doesn't love a good book with dragons in it.

Annie was probably my favorite character. Despite so many people not believing she could do her job because she's from a lower class, she proves them wrong time and time again. Their training as dragon riders was also fascinating, and Munda has just the right amount of world-building so that you're not overwhelmed but you're also not confused.

The audio was also fantastic, as the two narrators encapsulate both of the characters really well. Not necessarily a cliff-hanger ending, but there's definition enough of an opening to continue the series. Which I will definitely be following!
