Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, Lauren Myracle
3.0

Admittedly, I am not the target audience for this book of novellas. I do read quite a bit of YA (fantasy) and some romance (historical), but I rarely read modern YA romance. I usually find the characters a bit ... exhausting. I hadn't read anything by John Green or Maureen Johnson, however, and thought this would be a good introduction. And I think it was.

The writing is solid, the characters are well drawn, the tone seems pretty spot on to me, and I liked the relatively subtle way the three stories (by three different authors) are tied together. If you're looking for teen angst, adventure, and relationship resolution set in smalltown USA, I think you'll like it.

Of the three stories, I'd probably rank them in the order they appear in the book. Maureen Johnson's "Jubilee Express" was pretty good, John Green's "Cheertastic Christmas Miracle" would have been fun if edited down, and Lauren Myracle's "Patron Saint of Pigs" was a good concept but fell too far into the "exhausting character" category for me to enjoy.
