Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson

I think I would have been really ambivalent towards this book, but instead I read the Q&A with the author, and completely changed my perception of the novel. I really do understand if you want romance without graphic sex scenes, but let's not pretend that this makes you morally superior. It just makes me laugh that the author thought Jane Austen would be appalled by the amount of sex in the romance genre. Who knows what Jane Austen would think, but I think she would be much more fascinated by the fact that WOMEN CAN NOW INHERIT PROPERTY.

Seriously, has this author read Austen? She has beautiful romance, but she also SCATHINGLY tears apart the society she lives in. Sure, Austen would be shocked by the graphic sex, but so many "scandalous" romance novels have far superior characterization, dialogue, and social commentary than this really bland piece of writing from Donaldson.
