The Kingmaker by Kennedy Ryan
1.0

[resuming readings i didn't finish in 2019 part 2]

i guess saving the world and caring about minorities were the only personality traits available when kennedy ryan wrote this, cause they were the only thing maxim and lennix talked and thought about, wich was annoying and unrealistic and made them flat as fuck.

probably because of maxim and lennix's one-dimensional personalities their profound love and attraction for each other also felt very unconvincing to me, especially when their feelings were exact the same after ten years apart (though the reason for their fully separation was very weak, but that just adds to the list of flaws of the writing)

the cliffhanger was ridiculous, not just because i prefer read college stuff than to start the following book, but also bc it was totally random, with nothing leading to it. and even if it was dropped in the story with some purpose to be later revealed, at the end of this volume i still didn't care about the characters to read more about them.
