Rating: ★★★★☆

This had a rocky start for me. I wasn't a huge fan of Damon at the start, he was irritating me a little bit because of the sexism lol. But as the story progressed, and we learnt more about Damon's childhood etc. he definitely grew on me. I think that the chapters set in the past did get slightly tedious after a while, the story did drag slightly because of them. But those chapters did *wonders* for Damon's character. Like his character development was insane.

He's definitely my favourite out of all of the boys in this series, mainly because he isn't an asshole for the sake of it. He isn't mean because he's rich and entitled and privileged. It's because he's been through so much TRAUMA and I definitely sympathise with him in a way that I didn't with Kai and Michael. He's the most complex out of all the characters, and he intrigued me SO MUCH.

I also adored Winter, I thought she was amazing. I'm not sure if I like her as much as Banks?? But she's definitely up there with my faves. I really liked the rep of a blind character. I did question at times if Penelope Douglas had only made Winter blind to build angst and tension, because when we're in her perspective, we can't *see* the threat, rather than for the actual representation. But idk. Winter is MILESSSS better than Rika (thank god for that), and I loved her.

SPOILERS IN THIS SECTION BECAUSE OMFG:

What the hell was that threesome scene??? AGAIN???? I'm so confused. It did absolutely nothing for the story, and it was so out of character? Damon, throughout the book, has been so fucking protective of Winter, making sure that she doesn't sleep with anyone that's not him. And of nowhere, he's suddenly having a threesome? LOL WHAT?! It's so random, and it didn't even work. Like one of the things that defines Damon is that he doesn't like sharing. That's why in Hideaway, we find out he kept Banks hidden her entire life - because he wanted to keep Banks for HIMSELF. It's also the reason why he didn't like Rika in Corrupt, because he Michael is his friend, and he doesn't want to share. So why tf is he randomly having a threesome? I'm lowkey annoyed lmao.

And, I really dk how to feel about Rika becoming MAYOR?

I'm sorry, but Rika is not mayor material sdkskdlsk. I really dislike her character, she's a liiiitle stupid. I mean, if anyone was going to become the mayor (lmao) it should've been Banks. She is the one who is selfless and caring. Rika is just...... not it. sorry to all the Rika stans.

And lastly, my girl Banks is PREGNANT!!! FUCK YESSS. I was honestly so happy when I read that she was pregnant. She's going to be such an amazing mum, and ahh I love this for her and Kai
