Excellent writing- this book reminded me of those luscious, rich miniseries of the 1980's. The scenery, strong characters, and dramatic twists kept me wanting to see what happened next to Beryl -- some bits made me wish for more, that probably would have distracted from the thrust of Beryl's single-mindedness. I need to read more about Karen Blixen and Denys Finch and how they tie into this tale.
