I'm not sure what I was expecting when I jumped into Juniper & Thorn but the atmosphere Reid created really pulled me into the story. The tone was dark and haunting and I found myself thinking about Marlinchen when I wasn't reading - which is always a good sign! I enjoyed the dynamic between our FMC and the ballerina and quickly grew to despise the many villains within the story (they really were everywhere...). I thought the representation for trauma and PTSD were done well also.
Unfortunately, I did find the ending to fall a little flat, but I can't really point out exactly why. Overall, pretty fun and great creepy atmosphere.
