Thank you Simon & Schuster Audio and Libro FM for the ALC of Twenty-Four Seconds From Now! All opinions in this review are my own.
I am a huge Jason Reynolds fan so I was really excited to see his newest title available from Libro FM! His writing is beautiful and I feel like I enjoy it even more when I listen to it!
Per usual, Reynolds is able to expertly capture and describe emotions in this novel that at first appears to be about young love, but also deals with the complexity of family dynamics and grief.
The story is told backwards with larger and larger jumps in time. I liked this structure because you are able to see how much the character relationships have deepened and how much they have been through. Because the story is told backwards, it puts more of an emphasis on it, rather than the reader having to reflect on it at the end.
Overall, another fantastic read from Reynolds and I highly recommend you try listening to the audiobook version!
