Kill Creek
by Scott Thomas
This book has been on my TBR since last year, and I put it off due to lack of time so I decided to make it a priority this year. I really wish I hadn’t. I did not enjoy this book.
First, it took so long for anything to happen. Around page 180 I should have given up and DNF it, but I was determined to finish it. With all the rave reviews, I figured it had to get better. I can appreciate a slow burn when something eventually happens, but that did not happen in this book. I was just constantly bored.
Second, when a book is about a haunted house I expect some good scares. Although this book had some spooky scenes, I didn’t find them particularly scary, and I was really hoping for that big scare factor.
Third, this book felt so long. There were times I thought, “Oh good! It’s going to end soon!” Sadly, it just kept going and going. It had some action going on in part four, but even that felt drawn out.
As I mentioned above, there are some great reviews for this book so please don’t let my review sway you from reading it. This one just wasn’t for me.
