vel629vet 's review for:
All That She Can See
by Carrie Hope Fletcher
I LOVE this premise. Amazing idea and very well executed at the start.
Spoilers below.
About halfway through it really felt like Cherry's disposition changed. Part of it made sense after her lashing out at Chase, but part of it felt unintentionally. Suddenly dropping the F bomb, etc. I did also (like others have said) feel like there were 2 completely separate stories told. One ending with the scene outside the Fortune Teller's shop. One beginning with Cherry seeing Peter again and ending with the end of the novel. I truly didn't dislike the Guild storyline, but it felt like a different book than the one I started. I think it would have been great broken up into 2 separate novels.
I did notice improvement in Fletcher's writing with this novel from her first. More focused and concise characters. It still feels largely unedited, which is disappointing. 3/5 stars.
