I Am Malala by Christina Lamb, Malala Yousafzai
5.0

I have to give this a 5 star. It was very well written, a powerful narrative was built out of Malala's experiences and thoughts and her conviction was so strong and meaningful. My only issue is that Malala is a very strongly religious woman and this very much shaped her message. I cannot reduce my rating for that however as while I find religious conviction to be a turnoff typically, hers was clearly woven into her message and I'm certain that for many western readers it brings some sense of understanding for her and others of her faith. Her message was clearly of a woman who believes the best of her God and who doesn't want her faith to be misconstrued and used to hurt women and children.

Very powerful message and worth the read. I rarely find autobiographies/memoirs to carry any real punch or meaningful message. This one was done right.
